Valve seal material classification

Valve seal material mostly mixed material, mixing the different components have different effects, be sure to say when customers buy clearance purposes. Valve seal material can be divided into two major categories of metal and nonmetal. Here are several common valve gasket material conditions of use:

Non-metallic valve seal material:

Valve seal material there are three main categories of non-metallic: Nylon, Teflon and synthetic rubber, let them explain the use and features:
Nylon has a low coefficient of friction, good corrosion resistance and other characteristics. Nylon used for temperature t ≤ 90 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 32MPa ball valves, globe valves.
PTFE used for temperature t ≤ 232 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 6.4MPa cut-off valve, gate valve, ball valve and so on.
Synthetic rubber, oil, temperature, corrosion and other comprehensive performance is better than natural rubber. General synthetic rubber temperature t ≤ 150 ℃, natural rubber t ≤ 60 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 1MPa rubber for the cut-off valves, gate valves, diaphragm valves, butterfly valves, check valves, pinch valves and other valves seal.

There are seven kinds of metal materials:
1, chrome steel
Chromium stainless steel commonly used grades are 2Cr13, 3Cr13 quenched, good corrosion resistance. Commonly used in the temperature t ≤ 450 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 32MPa water, steam and oil and other media valve.
2, cast iron
Cast iron is used for temperature t ≤ 100 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 1.6MPa, gas and oil used in gate valves, globe valves, plug valves, etc.
3, a copper alloy
Copper alloy commonly used materials are 6-6-3 and 58-2-2 bronze manganese brass. Copper alloy wear resistance, suitable for temperatures t ≤ 200 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 1.6MPa water and steam, commonly used in gate valves, globe valves, check valves, plug valves, etc.
4, nitriding steels
Nitriding steel commonly used grades are 38CrMoAlA, carburizing treatment, with good corrosion resistance and scratch resistance. Commonly used in the temperature t ≤ 540 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 10MPa power station gate valve.
5, chromium-nickel stainless steel titanium
Chrome-nickel stainless steel commonly used titanium grades 1Cr18Ni9ti, its corrosion resistance, erosion resistance and heat resistance is better. For temperature t ≤ 600 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 6.4MPa steam, nitric acid and other media for the cut-off valve, ball valve and so on.
6, babbitt
Babbit for temperature t -70 ~ 150 ℃, nominal pressure PN ≤ 2.5MPa of ammonia shutoff valve.
7, Boronizing
Boronizing from the valve body or valve body material is directly machined sealing surface, then Boronizing surface treatment, security seal face wear very well. Used in power station blowdown valve.
